RRF – Rust Removal Flush

Precision Chemical Flush for Internal Cooling System Rust

Overview

RRF is designed to dissolve and remove internal rust deposits from industrial engine cooling systems. Rust clogs narrow flow paths, restricts coolant circulation, and reduces heat transfer. RRF clears it all—without harming metal surfaces—restoring flow and cooling performance. It’s also recommended during commissioning of new systems to eliminate flash rust that forms during fabrication, flushing, or testing—before the system even goes online.

Why It Matters

Rust in a closed-loop system doesn’t just reduce performance—it spreads. Once it starts, it continues to degrade surfaces, trigger corrosion, and block flow. RRF targets the root cause, eliminating rust-based restrictions and setting the foundation for clean coolant flow and long-term reliability—even before the first startup.

Key Benefits

- Chemically dissolves rust inside coolant passages
- Removes flash rust in newly commissioned systems
- Restores flow to restricted circuits
- Improves heat transfer and coolant efficiency
- Safe for cast iron, aluminum, copper, and seals
- Used only when ECA confirms rust contamination or during new system prep
- Supports full restoration to Zero Hour Certified condition

When to Use It

- After Enhanced Coolant Analysis identifies rust as the dominant contaminant
- In legacy systems where scale or discoloration indicates corrosion
- During commissioning of new cooling systems to eliminate flash rust
- Before installing new coolant into previously fouled or fabricated systems

How It Fits in the Program

RRF is a tactical component of the Royal Flush series, used after ECA flags internal rust buildup or as a preventive prep step during commissioning. It’s not a routine flush—it’s a precision solution for rust-specific problems, returning your system to peak, Zero Hour readiness.

“Flush the rust. Restore the flow.”

RRF - Rust Removal Flush

STEP 1

  1. RRF - Rust Removal  Flush is READY TO USE.
  2. Record water pump pressure and all temps
  3. Drain all old coolant
  4. Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap
  5. Install 1” ball valve on each side of block underneath rail
  6. Fill with RRF - Rust Removal  Flush until overflow from Surge/Day Tank
  7. Start/Run Unit loaded at full speed with flush 2 hours at temp

STEP 2

  1. Shutdown/Remove Surge Tank Cap.
  2. Power wash Surge Tank with STH - Surge Tank Hose (while still hot and full). Let particles overflow. (15-20 min)
  3. Drain Flush via ball valve on each side of block underneath rail. (dispose as you would old coolant)
  4. Fill with deionized water until overflow from Surge/Day Tank.
  5. Start/Run Unit loaded at full speed until up to temperature and thermostats open.
  6. Continue to pump in water and overflow until clear at Surge/Day Tank before opening ball valves. (2 x volume) overflow until clean.
  7. Inspect water pump and replace thermostats.
  8. Drain Unit / Fill with New Coolant*

*(Best Practice) Do not leave or run with water only.

Fill with coolant mix and 3%  CRI – Corrosion Rust Inhibitor
